What Our Teams Had to Say:
“Jason embodies what it truly means to pursue excellence. He consistently goes above and beyond, not only for his clients, but for every member of the team privileged to work alongside him. Jason is the definition of what it means to be more: more committed, more disciplined, more dedicated to the success of those around him.”
“Matt has stepped up, took over others’ work, and kept the project going. He has been given some extremely short deadlines on projects such as the Nevada State Capitol buildings without a principal in the office and handled it extremely well. I see everyone in the office rely on him for leadership and he handles all of it like a pro. How he handles it all amazes me.”
“Blake seems to give his all to every aspect of his work, and even looks for ways to make others’ jobs easier. An example of this was to help tweak our tracking process for CA to show our KPI’s in a more streamlined and comprehensive way. He is also always willing to help others on our team when they need a hand.”
“Kai’s rapport with owners, contractors, and consultants makes each of our jobs easier. All across Texas and the U.S., getting to say you work with or know Kai makes project stakeholders feel at ease. They know that he will approach each job site with integrity and with a thorough eye for excellence.”
“Regan consistently goes above and beyond in instances like this to serve our client and the greater good of the project. She works diligently and efficiently and is always helping others learn along the way. She is also a bright spot in sometimes challenging work, always kind and happy to be there. 10/10 Worker and Human!”
“Richard is not afraid to admit what he doesn’t know, and once you teach him something, he immediately learns it. He knows his strengths, understands his opportunities for growth, and approaches both with honesty and determination. Clients are obsessed with Richard and love working with him. One even said, ‘In 26 years of experience, we have never had someone like him.’”
Whoa Award:
The Whoa Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional judgment and leadership by knowing when to pause, reflect, and redirect to keep projects and resources on track. It is an award that was first bestowed to Jerry Hammerlun, a former leader of the Education practice and an individual who exemplified discipline, focus, and preparation, believing that success comes from unwavering attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- 2025 Whoa Award Winners:
- Thomas Cheung – Project Manager, Healthcare (DC)
- Tina Alford – Senior Project Architect, Education (Houston)
What Our Teams Had to Say:
“Thomas has taken the reins with Mary Washington Hospital in the wake of an esteemed retiree and earned both the trust of not only project managers in the design and construction department, but also medical department leads, nurses, and physicians throughout the hospital. He happily approaches any project type with enthusiasm and an eagerness to serve the client and support the cause of building beautiful healthcare spaces that serve our communities.”
“Tina is truly a force in every room she enters. When she saw that a project needed a step back for the right reasons, she led the team to have those tough conversations constructively. Thanks to her insight, we made the right adjustments without impacting the schedule. She brought clarity and calm to a difficult moment, helping us realign with the client in a way that strengthened both the process and the relationship.’”
