DALLAS, TEXAS — MOREgroup, a national architecture and engineering firm serving communities through healthcare, education, and civic design, has appointed Dan Thomas, AIA, ACHA, EDAC, NCARB, as Senior Executive Director of Healthcare. In this role, Thomas will shape and lead the firm’s national healthcare design vision, advancing how environments can elevate care, strengthen communities, and support the future of health.

A Vision Grounded in People, Systems, and Community

Thomas brings a deeply human-centered and systems-minded approach to healthcare design, guiding multidisciplinary teams in partnership with leading health systems to create environments where clinical excellence, operational performance, and human experience converge. His leadership reflects a belief that healthcare spaces are not only places of treatment, but essential infrastructure for well-being, dignity, and connection.
“Healthcare design carries a profound responsibility,” said Thomas. “The environments we create shape how care is delivered, how teams collaborate, and how communities experience healing. I am honored to lead this work alongside our clients and teams as we imagine a more connected, responsive, and humane future for healthcare.”
Central to Thomas’s vision is a commitment to healthcare that is both scalable and deeply local, balancing the complexity of large, integrated systems with the individuality of community-based care. Under his leadership, MOREgroup will continue to design environments that support daily practices of health, resilience, and compassion for patients, families, and caregivers alike.

Advancing Healthcare and Community Well-being

Thomas’ leadership—refined at top firms, including HKS & HDR—positions MOREgroup to help hospital and health system executives meet today’s priorities, from budget transparency and schedule certainty to patient experience, staff well-being, and resilient, adaptable campuses. “Dan brings the strategic clarity and depth of experience our clients need as they plan what’s next,” said LaShae Baskin, CEO of MOREgroup. “His leadership enhances our ability to create environments that elevate health and reinforce the strength of the communities we serve.”
