Women & Infants Hospital, Labor & Delivery Unit

E4H is in the process of planning and designing a new Labor and Delivery Unit at Women & Infant’s Hospital, the largest obstetrical facility in the state of Rhode Island, and one of the 10 largest in the country, delivering nearly 8,400 babies a year. The $10M to $15M and 27,000 square foot project consists of renovating and expanding the existing Labor and Delivery Suite, Alternative Birthing Center, and C-Section recovery area.

To create an environment that supports patient and family centered care
To encourages Clinical Care at the bedside
Create labor and delivery rooms universally designed to meet high risk, natural and bariatric deliveries
Provide the best patient and family experience possible while minimizing the ‘clinical’ feel of the space
Integrate the newest technologies and plan for the future
Provide an environment that fosters education of future generations
