With enrollment growth accelerating, Montgomery ISD needed to expand its CTE program without duplicating costly programs and equipment on two campuses. With the DEN, Huckabee helped the district shape a single, centralized, fiscally responsible solution that allows for future growth. More than a building, it is a landmark destination where the Lions and the Bears meet on common ground, reinforced through graphics and branding that celebrate their unity.
Huckabee supported program selection for the district. Thanks to extensive surveying and curriculum planning, students are guaranteed the opportunity to become true program completers. Community-facing spaces, including a public bistro, salon, and auto shop, allow students to earn certifications while engaging directly with the community. Technical pathways have room to do real work, with construction and welding labs, engineering and robotics supported by dedicated labs and fabrication space, and audio-visual production studios with podcasting rooms. Health science labs include clinical-style training areas, forensics and criminal justice spaces, and EMT instruction supported by an on-site ambulance for patient transfer practice.
Shelled second-floor space and phased build-out options keep the campus adaptable. Completed on time and under budget, the building is fully prepared for future program growth.
