Montgomery ISD’s new Ag Science Center is part of a larger effort to create equity between high schools in the delivery of CTE programs. It is being designed alongside a new centralized CTE center.
The design meets a variety of community needs, including a maintenance-friendly exterior, ventilation, stall closures, and animal safety from predators. The facility includes enclosures for cattle, hogs, lambs and goats, small animals, plus a show arena and support spaces for instruction.
Locally sourced materials and metal paneling creates a visual cohesion between the two high schools and this shared campus. Strategic and economical design choices allow the ag barn to mirror the district’s building aesthetic with similar materials and finishes to the CTE building that are tailored to the metal ag barn exterior.
