Huckabee’s Summer in Colorado

News, P-12 Education

We’re recapping our summer in Colorado, where we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside school districts across the state. Working with these districts has been an incredible opportunity to support their goals and help create environments that set students up for success. We’re proud to partner with them as they take steps toward strengthening education for their communities.

Adams 14

Huckabee is working closely with district leaders to design and envision the new PEAK Innovation CTE Center. Another priority for the district is using community input to repurpose schools. We are supporting the district to repurpose two middle schools into spaces that better fit the needs of the district and its students. These goals align with the district’s mission to help students graduate “empowered, inspired, and equipped to be who they want to be.” With the right facilities, that mission can be brought to life.

Aurora Public Schools

Aurora Public Schools’ mission is to “accelerate learning for all students to develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to shape successful futures.” In partnership with their community, they are committed to the success of all 40,000 students. Huckabee’s goal is to be the partner they need to help achieve that vision. This summer, we completed the renovation of restrooms at Vassar Elementary School to improve accessibility for students and better support their needs.

Cherry Creek Schools

Cherry Creek’s goals include upgrades to five existing schools, including new paint, flooring, finishes, electrical improvements, and art upgrades. These improvements are intended to create welcoming spaces that support and motivate the district’s more than 52,000 students for years to come.

Colorado Springs Schools D11

We are working closely with school leadership to ensure learning spaces are aligned with district goals. To help their facilities more fully serve students, we are creating collaboration spaces within their schools that better align learning styles with the physical environment.

Durango

Huckabee is supporting upgrades to Needham Elementary School, including mechanical improvements. Air-conditioning upgrades to the campus will improve comfort for students while supporting a more productive environment for staff year-round. To further support the district’s success, we are also assisting with planning for a new CTE Center.

Weld RE-4

Weld RE-4 believes, “Our core mission and primary role as a public school system is to educate our students.” We are proud to partner with the district to support its goal of creating success for every student.

Our work includes a new press box and greenhouse at Windsor High School, as well as a more than $16 million renovation and expansion project that will modernize one of the district’s oldest schools while adding space to accommodate future enrollment. Through an incredibly involved community process, we gathered input that ultimately led to the decision to renovate and close a 100-year-old building.
