Blythedale Children’s Hospital

Based on a master plan developed for this freestanding children’s rehabilitation hospital, E4H has completed multi-phased additions and renovations of Blythedale Children’s Hospital, completely replacing all existing patient rooms, creating a new face to the hospital, creating a long-term care unit, and renovating the program and outpatient services area.

Phase one and two encompassed a 108,000 SF addition and renovation, providing 86 beds, therapy and activity spaces, staff and support spaces, a new family resource center, new main entrance lobby, and a dedicated 10-bed traumatic brain injury unit as well as an on-site day hospital and education center. The pediatric and adolescent unit includes an activity room and teen lounge. The third phase includes the conversion of old nursing units into 16,500 SF of long-term care.

Additional renovations include an administrative space, a relocated and completely updated Pharmacy, and an expansion and complete renovation of the Therapy Village (PT/OT spaces) and a 10-bed expansion.
