Christiana Hospital Surgical Admissions & Patient Services Renovation

E4H was retained by ChristianaCare for the Surgical Admissions renovation project located on the second floor of the Christiana Hospital on their Newark, DE campus. The 14,056 square foot project area, adjacent to the existing surgical department, consists of 36 patient care stations including 34 patient bays and two airborne infection isolation patient rooms. The patient bays surround two open nurse stations and are separated into two non-sleeping patient care suites.

In addition, the project consisted of the following program areas:
• A central staff passage with Clean Supply Room, Soiled Workroom Area and Pneumatic Tube Station.
• Five general patient toilet rooms, as well as a patient toilet room directly accessed from each of the two airborne infection isolation patient rooms.
• A large equipment storage room with access from two separate circulation areas, and there is a Nourishment Room, a Staff Lounge, two shared offices, a single office and a Team Workroom.
• A Physical Therapy Room providing sessions for same-day surgery patients.
