Houston Cardiovascular Associates

Houston Cardiovascular Associates (HCVA) relocated clinical services to the eighth floor of an existing medical office building to support the expanding practice. An ambulatory surgery center with two cath labs was simultaneously constructed on the first floor to better serve patients. E4H provided planning and design services for the 24,600 SF project, which serves more than 20 cardiologists. By moving out of the central medical district, the client combined the needed patient care space into a single location in a significantly less congested location.

The resulting clinic includes 33 exam rooms, non-invasive diagnostic imaging with 12 echo/vascular rooms, two nuclear camera rooms, three stress rooms, three PET/CT scan rooms, and two minor treatment rooms. Physician office spaces were efficiently sized so that patient care room quantities could be increased by 20% from the previous clinic.
