Mount Sinai partnered with E4H to upgrade an outdated anatomy lab to meet modern medical education and surgical research standards. The existing cadaver lab was transformed into a shared environment for the Icahn School of Medicine (ISMMS) and the Comprehensive Center for Surgical Innovation (CCSI), bringing medical education and clinical research together.
The full renovation ensures the learning environment adapts alongside curriculum and surgical innovation, and is equipped with dual-purpose flex anatomy lab, a mock operating room with a simulated Angio OR suite, a medical education teaching lab, and a movable glass partition for simultaneous research and instruction. The design accommodates 11 cadaver stations, cold storage, and integrates advanced technology in its limited footprint. An additional dedicated CCSI prototyping and fabrication suite was constructed with 3D printing and milling capabilities that will support future research.
