The 32,500 square foot Northwell Health Massapequa Imaging & Cancer Center will provide outpatient cancer care and diagnostic imaging services to patients in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The project consisted of a gut renovation of an existing retail strip mall, with the phase 1 imaging center completing in 2021. Phase 2 includes a connected 20,274 square foot Cancer Center that will begin construction in 2025.
The 12,155 square foot imaging center features (2) MRIs, a CT, X-ray, Bone Density, (4) Ultrasounds, & (2) Mammography rooms. The layout and design of this space emphasized the patient experience to create a warm, inviting environment for the patient to receive cutting-edge care.
The connected Cancer Center consists of a multi-department program of Infusion, Medical Oncology Exam, Radiation Oncology Exam/Treatment, & a PET/CT expansion of the adjacent Imaging Center. The project consisted of a shared entry & waiting, (12) infusion bays with a central nurse station, USP 797 & 800 pharmacies, (14) exam rooms, linear accelerator, HDR/CT SIM, & PET/CT. This project aimed to fuse these multiple specialties in a single space to provide a single location for patients to receive all their cancer treatments in a familiar environment. E4H took great care to ensure that all departments, while independent, would function as a cohesive unit to provide exceptional care to these patients.
