Northwest High School is the oldest high school campus in the district and has been added to and renovated multiple times over the course of 30 plus years. The project’s overarching goal was to unify the campus in design and aesthetics, provide new classrooms, science labs, support spaces for future expansion, and upgrade standards in technology and instruction.
With existing CTE programs scattered across campus, closer proximity for programs, such as health sciences, business marketing, computer science/IT, and child development, strengthens the student and faculty community of the CTE programs. A new cosmetology suite has direct access from the exterior functioning as a being a state-of-the-art learning environment and practicum shop.
The library was relocated to a central location within the campus to create a new community hub and collaborative environment for students, faculty, and the community. An open concept provides access to social and learning communication freely. Enclosed break out spaces and classrooms serve as quiet rooms for study and meetings.
A learning stair, student services, coffee bar, and convenience store are also centrally located and adjacent to the library to promote student interaction.
