Pleasant View Elementary School is a new campus located within the Silo Mills development in Godley. The surrounding development boasts a hill country aesthetic which features prominently in the school through sloped roof lines, natural stone and wood-look accents. This 110,000 SF, 2-story facility has seven academic houses and is designed for 700 students, with the flexibility to increase capacity to 800 if needed.
The campus has a variety of outdoor activity spaces, including playgrounds, a hard court and a synthetic turf area. The Center for Learning and Innovation (CL&I) and dining space at the heart of the campus offer an organic park-like theme. The space is anchored at one end with a multi-purpose stage/flex classroom and at the other end with a learning stair that can seat two classes.
The playful learning stair and floor pattern, along with the cloud-like ceiling motifs, are designed to create a setting that can accommodate various functions. The center columns are tree-like structures, and other spaces around the perimeter have trellises to bring down the scale of the space. The intention is to create a welcoming and comfortable space for students and staff that functions as a library, large group project space, staff development space, dining area and/or assembly area.
