Project Facts

Location

Client

Texas State Technical College

Project Type

Career + Technology, Higher Education

The new WorkSITE building on the Waco campus of Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a dynamic CTE hub with the resources to provide competitive technical training and the flexibility to adapt to evolving career trends and technologies. The primary learning spaces are two 8,000 SF flex labs, where load-bearing walls keep the floor clear of columns, leaving plenty of room for equipment and opening a world of possibility for reconfiguration.

In keeping with TSTC’s standards, WorkSITE’s design is attractive, welcoming, and functional. It features a backlit, perforated metal screen on the front façade that broadcasts the school’s name and logo, an underlit canopy that shades the facility’s glazed entrance, and interactive screens that help visitors navigate the building.

Additional performance-based education guidelines turn WorkSITE into a tool for both teaching and recruiting. A glazed wall in the lobby provides a view to activities in one of the flex labs, and windows along an interior corridor allow glimpses into the welding and computer labs. Featuring a break room, a conference room, and comfortable seating throughout, the building also encourages gatherings and invites collaboration.
