Constructed in 1920 originally for the US Bureau of Mines and located on the University of Nevada, Reno Campus, was transferred to the university approx. 1940 for campus office use. US Bureau of Mines sampled and tested Radium from approx. 1920-1925. Building is 8,000 SF and is unreinforced masonry with a basement and two levels above grade. Current building project requires Radium Remediation (Removal) as well as seismic retrofit and entirely new finishes and Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical Systems. Project budget is $12 million, and Construction budget is approx. $8 million.
