With the opening of the Outpatient Pavilion, VHC Health expanded its impatient care capacity by transforming 1.5 floors of former medical office space into a state-of-the-art, 65-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). Partnering with E4H, the hospital reconfigured existing space within its main patient tower to meet the growing needs for high-acuity care.

Building on the success of the 22-bed medical/surgical unit designed by E4H and opened in 2020, the IMCU followed a proven basis-of-design to ensure a seamless, patient-centered experience.

Designed to accommodate patients with specialized medical needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator care, the IMCU improves accessibility and access to advanced medical care. Through this strategic transformation, VHC Health strengthened its commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care.
