Weill Cornell Medicine’s Brooklyn Heights outpatient facility is strategically located to provide a multi-specialty outpatient care for downtown Brooklyn residents. E4H provided design services for seven floors of a 12-story medical office building with specialties in pediatrics, adult primary care, reproductive medicine, ophthalmology, OB/GYN, and radiology.
Programmatically, each floor has a similar layout of approximately eight exam rooms, practitioner/provider consult offices, and support spaces to accommodate the respective practice requirements.
The team worked with a historical landmarks consultant to design a new storefront window system and entrance that maintains the character of the historic façade while establishing a connection to the outside, and to bring natural light into the waiting area.
WCM Brooklyn Heights features a sophisticated finish palette that complements the building’s historical character while adhering to WCM brand standards. To maintain a cohesive identity across the seven floors, each elevator lobby has a custom feature wall and WCM signage. Bamboo wall panels with inlaid light fixtures are sculpted to mimic the Brooklyn skyline.
