As an Associate Principal with over 20 years of experience across market sectors, Laura has led multiple project teams —often simultaneously—through the design and construction of education projects. Her dual background in interior design and architecture empowers her to speak the language of both disciplines, quickly process information, and visualize project details with precision. She takes a solution-focused approach to architecture, listening, observing, and evaluating challenges from multiple perspectives to determine the most effective course of action. She then utilizes the lessons learned to grow and improve for the next project.
As a leader, Laura encourages her teammates to voice and share ideas but also knows when to take charge. She believes the most impactful way to bring out the best in others is through open communication, mentorship, empathy, and inclusivity.
Laura views the impact of architecture on our communities as even greater than Churchill famously described: We shape not just our buildings, but our interior and exterior environments, and thereafter, they shape us. She lets the styles of the past influence the present and cites nature as a guiding influence when creating color palettes and material combinations. In her personal time, she has volunteered for 20 years as a site designer and logistics manager for the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival and the Fort Worth Parade of Lights.
