Completed in two phases at NewYork-Presbyterian’s Westchester Hospital, E4H relocated and renovated the labor and delivery wing and med/surg inpatient unit to the fourth floor. Phase 1 converted the south wing into a labor & delivery unit. Phase 2 converted the west wing into med/surg inpatient rooms and maternal fetal medicine.
Spanning 13,255 SF, the new labor & delivery unit features six labor & delivery rooms including two with birthing tubs. Additionally, there are four triage rooms, two C-section ORs with adjacent surgical support spaces, a two-bed PACU, staff lounge and locker room. The second phase converted the west wing into a 5,280 SF med/surg inpatient unit and 1,875 SF maternal fetal medicine suite. This phase includes 10 single med/surg beds with two configured for isolation, nurse station, family lounge, and six ultrasound/doppler rooms. To improve the patient experience, designers incorporated warm wood finishes, nature-inspired artwork, flexible furniture, and tunable lighting.
