This renovation transforms an existing middle school campus to meet the evolving needs of Forney ISD’s students and educators. Through a comprehensive series of interior reconfigurations, the design reimagines outdated spaces into modern, flexible learning environments that promote engagement and interdisciplinary learning.
The project includes alterations to multiple areas across campus, highlighted by the creation of a new “Hub” — a vibrant learning commons formed by opening the library, surrounding classrooms, and corridors into a connected, student-centered environment. Fine Arts areas restructured to better support music, dance, and performance programs, while former locker rooms converted into art studios and general classrooms. Additional renovations expand SPED areas and transform science rooms into new flexible learning spaces.
The design maintains the existing building’s structure and character while improving spatial organization, daylighting, and finishes to align with contemporary learning standards.
Together, these updates bring new life to the Clay Jones Intermediate campus, aligning physical space with the district’s vision for innovation, collaboration, and student growth.
