Previously home to several outpatient practices each with their own lobby, exam rooms, and staff spaces, E4H redesigned the 4th floor to a maximize exam space and improve overall space utilization.
A single lobby now serves as the hub from which the specialty surgical practices operate. Working within the building’s unique oval shape, E4H created pods with 4-room clusters. The resulting 21,000 square foot space features 37 exam rooms and 4 procedure rooms. Wayfinding and ceiling treatments were key to simplifying the floor plan.
This project is one phase in the 4-phase project to improve clinical operations at MWH’s Tompkins Martin Medical Plaza. These phases include:
1. Infrastructure engineering upgrade to AHUs, boilers, and related equipment.
2. Floor 4 – Consolidate and upgrade multi-specialty surgical practices (non-cardiac).
3. Floor 3 Renovations – CDs are complete.
4. Floor 2 Renovations – Sequenced in construction over the next 2 years.
