Huckabee helped Cameron ISD revitalized the historic Old Yoe High School building—vacant for 20+ years—into a cutting-edge CTE, funded by a $15.9 million bond.
The three-story facility blends historic charm with modern upgrades, featuring a new auditorium constructed with salvaged wood from the original structure. The design focuses on hands-on, real-world learning environments tailored to prepare students for in-demand careers.
The center houses specialized classrooms and labs for a range of programs, including health sciences, education, computer science, business and accounting, and criminal justice. Standout spaces include a mock hospital room and pharmacy for health science students, a crime scene lab for criminal justice, and technology-equipped classrooms for business and computer courses. Each area is designed to support career-focused instruction and simulate professional settings.
