Graphics That Connect Students to Nature & Inspire Curiosity
In keeping with the architectural design, the environmental graphics at Barton Elementary capture school spirit while bringing in inspiration from the outside world. The Buffalo mascot, a beloved part of the school’s brand, is embraced throughout the campus, from an acrylic buffalo sign welcoming visitors at reception to a mural stretching across the library wall high above the space. Patterns and environmental imagery inspired by the school’s STEM curriculum introduce moments of curiosity and guide students through collaborative learning spaces. Extending the experience outdoors, a perforated exterior screen carries the school’s graphic identity onto the building’s facade.
A Cohesive Campus Experience
Barton’s graphics were designed to complement the building’s biophilic materials, textures, and forms. A two-story tree installation reinforces the school’s connection to nature within a central gathering space. Through close collaboration with interior designers and architects, every detail was considered to enrich the environment while allowing the campus’s technology-rich learning spaces to speak for themselves.
