Sustainability
We create healthy buildings to promote healthy occupants.
With the belief that healthy buildings promote healthy communities, we pair human-centric design with strategies to reduce emissions, decrease operational costs, and improve outcomes.

Minimize Emissions, Maximize Value
Our designers work with clients to quantify their sustainability goals and implement innovative solutions, from ensuring regulatory and environmental compliance to avoiding harmful chemicals and reducing energy usage, emissions, and waste.
Healthy for the Environment, Healthy for Humans
With over 40 LEED Accredited Professionals and a team of WELL and Fitwel certified designers, we create resource efficiency while promoting holistic health. Leveraging evidence-based approaches, our designs prioritize staff safety and wellness and follow biophilic principles to introduce daylight and other natural elements into healthcare spaces.

Weather the Demands of Healthcare
Healthcare demands more from its environment than almost any other industry. With a robust knowledgebase and a vast network of healthcare design experts, we select materials that remain durable and clean under duress—all while staying sensitive to VOCs, off-gassing, and product lifecycles.

Creating a Healthier Environment for the End-of-Life Journey
Situated on the south shore of Lake Erie in Northern Ohio, Hospice of the Western Reserve’s new Hospice Care & Community Center delivers comfort, compassion, and critical services for patients, who often arrive in the final days of their end-of-life journey. E4H took a human-centric approach to sustainability for the LEED Silver project, holistically integrating the facility with its natural environment to deliver an optimal experience for staff, patients, their families, and members of the surrounding community.
