While Roper St. Franics Healthcare has an existing oncology exam space in the suite adjacent and an existing infusion space elsewhere, the goal was to increase the amount of infusion space and joining the practices as a oncology center.
The design showcases an open infusion area that maximizes lighting and views. The centrally located team station and team touchdown islands create a semi-private zone for patients but maintains visibility, allowing the care team to give patients their privacy and still be present.
The under-counter alcoves provides the care team a tuck-away space to store equipment that helps with circulation as well as reduce visual clutter from patients’ view. Indirect lighting, calm tones and nature inspired finishes all unite to create a healing environment.
The project includes 15-chair infusion bay, a private infusion room, two injection bays, nourishment alcove, meds room, clean supply, soiled utility, staff office and lounge. It also includes a check-in/out station and a shared waiting with the adjacent oncology exam rooms, bringing together care teams to provide patient care at every stage.
