Located on the San Dimas High School campus, the Bonita Center for the Arts (BCA) is a 700-seat performance hall that hosts everything from local school productions to visiting theatre companies, giving stage to drama, choir, instrumental performances, musical theatre, dance, and more.
At the heart of the award-winning building lies an impressive audience chamber. Two seating tiers and a balcony offer clear sight lines to the stage, fostering an intimate viewing experience. In the two-story lobby, over 400 people can comfortably gather for pre- and post-performance events. Solar tracking fins on the entry façade moderate sunlight, enhancing the building’s aesthetic while managing energy use.

In the BCA, Bonita USD wanted a flagship venue that would represent its schools and retain visibility from the street. Two anchors, a cylindrical restroom facility and a circular stair that wraps the building’s elevator, achieve both goals. Their red color adds vibrancy without pledging allegiance to any one school, and the stair has become iconic, now serving as the BCA’s logo.

CHPS-certified, winner of multiple awards—environmentally responsive and safe, both a community resource and a teaching tool—the BCA is best-in-class.
