Career and Technology Expansion

This single-story addition consists of a new Vet Med Classroom accessible from the existing Vet Med Lab, Floral Lab, and General Classroom. The existing Floral Lab will be converted for use as a new classroom space. On the southeast side of the existing building, a two-story tornado shelter, will be surrounded by single-story construction.

Existing programs including Architecture, Graphic Design, and Animation will be relocated and expanded within the addition with space for new programs including eSports and Animation. A two-story circulation space between the existing building and addition will provide a smooth transition while maintaining the existing south façade that the district and community admire. Within the tornado shelter, a large opening with monumental stair connecting the first and second floor, along with glass walls into the classrooms, provide an open concept promoting interaction and collaboration with students and staff.

Interior renovations of the existing building will include converting training rooms into three general classrooms, rebalancing air conditioning at corridor adjacent to training rooms, adding ceiling tiles to the existing networking classrooms, converting the existing Credit Union into gallery space and two offices, renovation of three Architecture/Animation Labs for Health Science, renovation of A/V Sound Control Rooms for virtual learning, and converting existing display case areas for small collaboration.
