E4H collaborated with Children’s Health System of Texas to modernize their existing diagnostic imaging department. In addition to refreshing the interior design, E4H replaced and upgraded equipment and integrated an x-ray room into the main hospital imaging department. A mock MRI room was created to introduce pediatric patients to the procedure, which can be noisy and overwhelming. Familiarizing pediatric patients through the mock MRI enables them to undergo a scan without sedation or general anesthesia.

As the department caters to pediatric patients up to 21 years old, the vision was to craft a space that would be inclusive and appealing to all age groups. Embracing elements of biophilic design, the newly remodeled unit features three distinct procedure rooms, each thoughtfully themed around the seasons of spring, summer, and fall. The interior exudes warmth with rich colors and natural wood finishes to create an environment that soothes and comforts.

Printed wall graphics make for easy maintenance and cleaning. The colorful floor pattern acts as a wayfinding element, ensuring families can navigate the space swiftly and effortlessly. The resulting space elevates the patient experience and accommodates pediatric patients of all ages with an atmosphere of serenity and well-being.

This project also includes include an x-ray room, nuclear-med gamma room, control room, injection room, and an office and support spaces.
